Noranda Bauxite volunteers and the United Way of Jamaica care about the children at Widow’s Mite Home.

In celebration of the global “Day of Action”, the United Way of Jamaica and Noranda Bauxite Partners collaborated to improve the lives and well being of children with special needs at the Widow’s Mite orphanage in Murray Mountain on June 20, 2013.  Thirty two (32) employees of Noranda Bauxite Partners gave 512 hours of volunteer hours over two days to the children’s home that caters to physically and mentally challenged children, some of whom have been abandoned. The home is operated by the Mustard Seed organization and is located close to the bauxite company’s mining operations.
